- The 24-Day Advent doubles the magic: 12 books and 12 gifts for the full festive experience.
📚 What kinds of books are included?
Each calendar is hand-curated by the Ink & Ember team. You’ll receive a mix of new releases, indie gems, and books for you to discover that fit your chosen genre theme. We select stories that surprise, delight, and keep you reading deep into the night.
🎁 What are the “bookish gifts”?
Think candles, bookmarks, reading journals, stationery, prints, festive treats, and exclusive Ink & Ember accessories. Each one is wrapped and numbered — so you’ll unwrap something special every day.
✨ Can I choose my genre?
Yes! You can pick your Reading Realm (Romantasy, Fantasy, Romance, Crime & Thriller, Contemporary Fiction, Horror or Young Reader).
If you’d like a total surprise, simply select “Mystery Mix” at checkout — we’ll choose for you.
🕯️ When will my advent calendar arrive?
All pre-orders ship or are ready for collection from mid-November to arrive in plenty of time for December 1st. You’ll receive an email once your calendar is on its way or ready to collect.
📦 How are the items packaged?
Each book and gift is individually wrapped and numbered. Everything is nestled in a beautifully presented box with Ink & Ember’s signature cozy aesthetic — perfect for gifting or unwrapping each day.
🎄 Can I send it as a gift?
Absolutely! You can include a personal gift message at checkout, and we’ll handwrite it on a card inside your box. We never include pricing information in gift orders.
💫 Will everyone get the same books and gifts?
Not necessarily — we love to curate unique combinations! Every calendar is hand-packed, so while themes are consistent, your exact selection may vary to keep the surprise (and magic) alive.
🧡 I’m buying for a young reader. Is the content age-appropriate?
Yes! The Young Reader Edition is carefully curated for ages 9–12 and includes age-appropriate books and gifts designed to spark imagination and confidence in reading.
🔥 Are the items returnable?
As each advent is a limited, surprise-based item, we can’t offer returns or exchanges unless an item arrives damaged or defective. (But if there’s a problem, please reach out and we’ll always make it right.)
☕ Can I collect in-store?
Yes you can select local pickup at checkout and collect from our Stamford shop once you receive your “Ready for Collection” email.
